In the Situations Collection, I explored the idea of using language and color to set an emotive tone for each painting. The combination of these elements provides the viewer a starting point in which to create their own narrative, one that emerges naturally between the statement and the image. Contradictory yet playful at times, these works offer the audience a strangely familiar, clever, and intriguing new way to re-examine our surroundings.
